Lanswood Limited act as data controllers and are referred to as “Lanswood”, “we” or “us” in this policy.

  • Personal data that we receive from third parties.  We may receive personal data about you from other companies that we engage with in relation to your property purchase or that we contract to help us maintain your property.  For example, we may receive  information regarding the sale of another property you currently own from your mortgage broker, estate agent or solicitor (or from professional advisors acting for another party in the same chain).

  • Your visit to our website. This may include your browser type and version, referral source, entry page, exit page, length of visit, number of page views, route taken through this website and similar information. What do Lanswood do with this? It helps us to make sure that our website works properly for you, that the speed of the website is quick enough, and it helps us make sure we are serving customers with what they want to access, so we are continually improving the website for you to navigate quickly to the information you are looking for. To enable us to do this we would use Google Analytics.

Retention Periods

We store your personal data on secure servers for different periods of time depending on the type of data and the purpose for which we are processing it.  We hold your personal data for the following periods:

  • until we no longer have a reason to hold it in relation to financial data (e.g. we destroy payment details as soon as we have taken a payment)

  • 5 years from the date of inquiry for prospective customers

  • 10 years from the date on which you cease to be a client of ours (the date of completion), or

  • until you ask us to destroy it

and in each case unless the law requires us to store the data for a longer period.

HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA FOR MARKETING

We will add your details to our marketing database if:
